How Xeromax Can Help:
The process is able to add a durable water repellent (DWR) coating to virtually any textile, be it synthetic or natural.
The Xeromax process is environmentally friendly. Unlike most DWR solutions currently in use, no hazardous solvents are used in our proprietary process - thus, no hazardous waste is generated. In addition, unlike many DWR solutions, the Xeromax process uses no fluorocarbons or fluoropolymers which have been implicated by the US Environmental Protection Agency as containing perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA). PFOAs have been cited as being potentially hazardous to human health.
The application process requires only minor modifications to standard plasma and CVD treatment machinery already in use - making adoption simple and inexpensive. In addition, because the nano-thin coating is applied in a gaseous phase, very little chemical is used per application. Consequently, the cost is competitive relative to current industry solutions.
